At least 30 people are among the 44 killed in a mass murder, in which scores were apparently shot before being executed.
A police official described a “maniacal” killing in which gunmen “threw at least six bodies from the car” before running away.
The suspected killer, wearing an orange hooded jacket and a black t-shirt, was shot by police and is being questioned in Brussels.
Police in neighboring Schaerbeek said another person was still being questioned in connection with the shooting, after the bodies of four men were found near a bar at about 4pm on Thursday.
The first person to die was identified by his name, according to Belgian broadcaster RTBF
The next victim is not being named because of the suspect’s age. An autopsy for a fourth victim is scheduled to begin on Saturday.
Police were still searching for a third suspect.

Police were seen on the ground investigating a shooting in the town of Saint Quentin, near Brussels, where a man was killed and four others wounded. Police said at least 10 hostages were trapped inside the bar and o강남출장샵fficers were searching for a third suspect.
Two days earlier, 32 people were killed and about 150 injured when a suicide bomber attacked the city’s central metro.
